SIZING GUIDE

Front Pattern and Hind Pattern

The size of the shoe is determined by selecting the shoe with the toe profile most like the foot. In general the toe of a front foot is more rounded and is widest at the midpoint from side to side. A hind foot is narrower in the toe and is widest approximately 2/3 of the length from the toe. The shoes can be used in any combination to achieve the optimal fit. Measure the foot at the widest point from side to side and then the length from the center of the toe to heel. With those measurements select the shoe that best approaches the dimensions with the appropriate profile. The most critical measurement is the width. Be sure to select a shoe that covers the widest part of the hoof. Some feet may be long and narrow or if extra length is desired for additional support of the tendons and ligaments, then it may be desirable to select a hind pattern to get the extra length. Usually a size larger hind pattern is appropriate for a front foot requiring extra support.
